USING THE CANVAS EDITOR

The Canvas Editor is a feature within the Centric 8 application that allows Users to create a prototype design or a sample of a product. This sample or prototype design is initially in the Draft state and can be revised several times. Once the design is approved, it moves to the production stage. The Canvas Editor facilitates the creation of a product design and allows the users to call out a modification to a design or comment on a sample.

When you open the Canvas Editor in Internet Explorer, the Canvas opens in a new browser window. You can change the IE Settings if you wish to open the Canvas in a new tab rather than in a new window.

To set the Canvas to open in a new tab in Internet Explorer

1. Select Tools >  Internet Options. In the Internet Options dialog box, click on the General tab. In the Tabs section, click on the Tabs button.

2. In the Tabbed Browsing Settings dialog box, in the When a pop-up is encountered section select the Always open pop-ups in a new tab radio button. To save the selection, click on OK.

 To set the Canvas to open in a new tab in Firefox and Chrome

1. Open a Data Sheet in the Centric 8 application.

2. Mouse-over the workspace area and click on Edit Canvas. The Canvas opens in a new window.
