Users can create a Supplier Request, requesting a Supplier for a Quote and/or a Material Sample. This Supplier Request is issued to the Supplier after selecting Materials for which users require a Quote and/or Material Samples. Once users have received a quote from the Supplier, users have an option to close the Request if users have agreed on the Supplier Quote or re-issue the Request for further negotiation.
Create a new Supplier Request
Navigate to Home > Material > Sourcing > Supplier Requests tab.
In the Supplier Request column, mouse-over Actions and select New Supplier Request.
In the New Supplier Request dialog box, enter the Supplier Request details.
Click Next to open the New Supplier Request page.
To associate Materials to the Supplier Request, click on the check box against each Material.
Click Finish to create a Supplier Request.
NOTE: Once the Supplier Request is created, it will automatically open the Supplier Quotes page.
The State of the newly created Supplier Request is displayed as either:
Draft: When a Supplier Request is created.
Issue: When the Supplier Request is issued.
Re-Issue: Users can re-issue Supplier Request. Select the Materials in the Re-Issue dialog box and click on Save.
Close: The Supplier Request is closed. The State is displayed as Complete.
NOTE: When users select the Blank option, no action is initiated.
NOTE: Users cannot create Stock Order for a Supplier Request that is in the Complete state.
