PRODUCT SYMBOLS

Users can define Product Symbols for Brand, Feature, and Function in Centric 8 on this tab.

Create a New Product Symbol

1. Navigate to Home > Material > Product Symbols

2. To create a new Product Symbol, mouse-over Actions and select New Product Symbol..  

   

3. A new row is created in the table. Enter the Product symbol name and other details for all the editable cells which are indicated by a grey triangle displayed in the right-hand bottom corner of the cell.

   

4. The following attributes are displayed in the Default view:

• Product Symbol: Enter a name for the Product Symbol which can be edited.

• Localized Name: To facilitate better understanding in local language, you can localize the Product Symbol.

• Description: Enter a brief description of the Product Symbol

• Type: Displays the type for which the Product Symbol is created, such as Brand, Feature or Function.

• Rank: Enter a ranking number for the Product Symbol.

• Tags: You can create one or more tags here. Click anywhere within the Tags cell and enter a tag name and click anywhere outside the cell. The new tag name is created and displayed in the table.

• Image: Click anywhere in the cell and select the Browse Images link. In the Browse Images dialog box, select the image for the Product Symbol.

• Active: This check-box is selected by default to indicate that the Product Symbol is active and available throughout the Centric 8 application. To render this Product Symbol inactive and unavailable, de-select the check-box.

• Actions: This Column has icons to edit, copy and delete.

Localize Product Symbol Name

1. To facilitate better understanding in local language, user can localize the Product Symbol name.

2. Click on the Localized Name column to select a local language and enter the name of the Product Symbol in the selected language.  

   

3. When the local language is English, mouse-over to display the equivalent name in the selected language.

   

4. When the local language is the selected language, the Localized Name column displays the product symbol name in the selected language.
