PRODUCT ALTERNATIVE SPECIFICATION

Centric 8 provides Users with an option to assign an alternative product for a Style. The specifications of the alternative Product can be used in BOM and Routing. Users can create one or more product alternative specifications on this tab.

One or more product alternatives can be associated with a Style on the Style > Properties > Product Alternatives tab.

Define one or more Product Alternative Specifications

1. In the Product Alternative Specification column, mouse-over Actions and select New Product Alternative Specification...

   

2. A new row is created in the table. Edit details for the editable fields which are indicated by a small grey triangle displayed in the top right corner of the cell.

   

3. The following attributes are available in the default view:

• Product Alternative Specification: Enter a name for the Product Alternative Specification.

• Active: This check-box is selected by default. To make a particular Product Alternative Specification inactive and unavailable in the Centric 8 application, de-select the check-box corresponding to a particular Product Alternative Specification.

• Description: A brief description of the Product Alternative Specification is displayed.

• Suppliers: Select Suppliers from the drop-down list.

• Supplier Quote Expected: Select this check box to use the Product Alternative Specification in a Style.

• Actions: Icons relating to copy, delete etc. are displayed in this column.

4. The Active check box is selected by default to indicate that the Product Alternative Specification will be visible and available throughout the Centric 8 application. To render this unavailable, de-select the check box.

5. To view the properties, click on the Product Alternative Specification name.

6. To view the Styles which use the Product Alternative Specification, click on the Styles tab.
