DEPARTMENT

The term department is used to refer to separate divisions of an organization. Departments within a company can be organized around a number of different parameters - such as their specific function, products, customers, geographic location or processes.

Create a New Department:

  1. Navigate to Home > Styles > Seasons tab. Click on a Season to view the Brands table. In the Brands table, click on a Brand to view the Brand > hierarchy  Departments section.

  2. In the Departments table, mouse-over Actions and select New Department

  3. In the New Department dialog box, enter the Department name, Code, and Description , and click on Save

NOTE: Fields marked with (* ) are mandatory fields

         

If a hierarchy template has been created for the Department, then the Template field is displayed in the New Department dialog box. Selecting the template will populate the other fields with the corresponding set of values and will render then read-only. The values cannot be edited. However, if a hierarchy template is not available, then this field is not displayed and the user can enter details for the hierarchy item.

  1. The new department is displayed in the table.

  2. The following attributes are displayed in the Default view:

    1. Department: This column lists all the existing Department.

    2. Code: Unique Code for the Department

    3. Description: A brief description of the Department is displayed.

    4. Number of Styles: The number of styles that exist for a particular Department.

    5. Image:  Image assigned for the Department

    6. Actions: This Column has icons to edit and delete Department

Create a New Department from an existing Department

  1. Navigate to Home > Styles > Seasons tab. Click on a Season to view the Brands table. In the Brands table, click on a Brand to view the Brand > hierarchy  Departments section.

  2. In the Departments table, mouse-over Actions and select New from Department.

  3. In the New from Department dialog box, select the Departments by selecting the check box corresponding to the required Departments. Click on Save.

  4. In the New from Department dialog box, select one or more templates based on which you want to create a department. enter the required details and click on Save.

NOTE: ONLY Department details for departments NOT created on the basis of a hierarchy item template can be edited.
