UNIQUENESS

Adobe Illustrator file names are based on Document and Image file names.   Adobe PLM Connect uses this mapping to make the objects in Centric 8 (Styles, Materials, Seasons, Suppliers, etc.) available through a files and folders interface – through Check In and Check Out.

These file systems require that, within a folder, each file and folder must have a unique name.  Duplicate file and folder names are not allowed within any one folder.  Adobe PLM Connect will work best if Centric 8 has this same uniqueness constraint – for example if all Styles within a Collection have a unique name.  This is a matter of Centric 8 configuration.  If this is not done, and there is no uniqueness constraint, Adobe PLM Connect will still function.  It will only display the first object of a given name, however.  For example, if there are two Styles named "V-Neck" in the same collection, only the first one will be displayed.
