Centric 8 provides the ability for it to be registered as a Service Provider with an identity provider, allowing Users to have a single sign-on.
The Single Sign-on (SSO) using SAML feature consists of the following:
User Authentication utilizing single login portal for one or more services
The following are the three main actors:
User: Uses a service that requires login
Identity Provider (Idp): An authority that creates, maintains and manages identity information for users and provides authentication to service providers within a federation or distributed network
Service Provider (SP): An application that provides some service to an end user.
SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language) is an XML based protocol for securely communicating authentication and identity information in a federated environment.
IdPs and SPs communicate with each other using SAML encoded messages.
For more information on SSO Login, refer Centric 8 Installation Guide, Appendix Section P:Single Sign-On (SSO) with SAML 2.0..
