CHECK IN

When a file is checked in , it is saved to the object as a new document in Centric 8. The file is now associated with the object thus, enabling users to assign Image Intents to create BOM for the object. The Check In feature allows you to:

  1. Save a file in the default location from where you opened the file for editing. However, to select a different location, click on the Select a different location link or Change Location button.


NOTE

            

If you Check In and then change locations and if there any Image Intents defined, the system will attempt to establish the same Image Intents on the newly selected object.

  1. In Centric 8, the check-in comment is displayed in the Revision Comment column of the Revision Table.

If you Revision Comment attribute is not already present in the view, then ensure that is added to the view using the Custom Views on the Documents tab.

  1. When the file is saved, images corresponding to each artboard is generated. On Check In, these images are uploaded to Centric 8. Centric 8 makes use of these images according to its configuration.


NOTE

             

Illustrator allows you to Check In a file to Centric 8 application after the file is saved from the File > Save option, from the main menu of the Illustrator. If the file is not saved, a confirmation message is displayed, to ensure that the file is saved.
