On this tab, ${User.Plural} (with Administrator rights or Configuration Level users who have access to the Setup level tabs) can:

• Define one or more new ${MaterialType.Name} and define the ${ConfigurableAttribute.Plural} for the ${MaterialType.Name}.
  
• Select one or more ${DataSheet.Plural} and associate them with the corresponding ${MaterialType.Name}

How to define ${MaterialType.Plural}

1. In the ${MaterialType.Plural} column, mouse-over ${Actions} and select ${New} ${MaterialType.Name}. In the ${New} ${MaterialType.Name} dialog box, enter the details and click on ${Save}.
2. The ${MaterialType.Plural} attributes and the Data Sheets available for the ${MaterialType.Plural} are differentiated by color.
   The following important attributes are available on the ${Default} view: 

• ${Active}: Select the check box to render the ${MaterialType.Name} active. 
• Allow Colored Material Create on Placement: To allow Users to create a colored Material directly within a BOM (on the Style > BOM > Placements tab) select this check box. 
• Source Default Availability: This  check box is checked by default. When unchecked, the Sourcing availability of the Material combination (i.e. Colored Material and Size) is not available by default.
  
• Has Season Availability by Default: Select this check box to specify that the selected Material Type is available only for particular seasons.
  
• Use Highest Quote for Placement: Select this check box to take the highest Supplier Quote as the Placement within the BOM, while updating a Supplier Quote for the Material in a Placement.
  
• Usage: This column details are specified at the time of creating the ${MaterialType.Plural}. The options available are:
  • Standalone
  • Structure Component
  • Tool
• Compatible Types: From the drop-down, select the compatible type for the Material Type.
  

NOTE: The ${MaterialType.Plural} created on this tab are used on the Material tab at the time of creating one or more Materials on the Home tab.

IMPORTANT: In order to create one or more Product Structures on the Home > Material > Product Structure tab, it is important to create a Material Type with Usage as either Tool or Structure Component.

IMPORTANT: At the time of creating one or more ${MaterialType.Plural}, if you select the  ${Category1.Plural}, Features and Functions checkbox, then these attributes will be available when creating Product Symbols on the Home > Material > Product Symbols tab.

In order for the changes to be reflected within the C8 application, from the main menu bar, select Actions > Update Configuration.
