A test specification describes a test standard which is used in a ${TestRun.Name} on a product. For each test specification, you can define the test type and any sub-types, specify the product type to which the test applies, and specify testing methods.

How to create a new Test Spec

  1. Mouse-over ${Actions} and select ${New} ${TestSpec.Name}.
  2. In the New ${TestSpec.Name} dialog box, enter the ${TestSpec.Name} details and click on ${Save}
    NOTE: The editable fields are indicated with a grey patch in the corner of the field.
  3. By default, the State of the ${TestSpec.Plural} is "Draft" displayed in the Latest State attribute. To change the State of the ${TestSpec.Plural} to "Approved", in the ${Actions} column, click on the  "Approve the Current Version" icon.
  4. From the drop-down menu in the Apply To Types attribute, select one or more types for which the ${New} ${TestSpec.Name} can be applied to.

NOTE: When the State of the ${TestSpec.Plural} changes to "Approved", the "Create a New revision based on the Current Revision" icon is displayed in the corresponding ${Actions} column. When you click the "Create a New revision based on the Current revision" icon in the ${Actions} column, the Latest State changes to "Draft" and the "Latest Revision" number is displayed. The values displayed in Latest Target Method, Latest Target Result and the Latest Target Comment are moved to Approved Target Method, Approved Target Result and Approved Target Comment respectively.

IMPORTANT: The Latest Revision number increases in sequential order each time you click the "Create a New revision based on the Current revision" icon.

Click on the newly created ${TestSpec.Plural} to view the properties on the Properties tab.
