This tab is an example of the Slicer feature. Slicer is a reporting tool in Centric 8 and it provides a data summarization from Centric 8 business objects. Slicer Store contains the data extraction requirements and aggregate functions from Centric 8.

SECTION: SLICER EDITOR

Using the Slicer Editor, the Slicer table can be customized to the required Slicer data. Slicer Editor consists of the following three sections to select appropriate classifiers:

How to select a new Row Classifier

  1. Click on the Slicer Editor icon present on the Slicer toolbar. The Slicer Editor is displayed.
  2. In the Row Classifiers section of Slicer Editor, click on the Available Classifiers option, and then select the required classifier names from the list.
  3. To rearrange the added row classifiers, drag-and-drop the required classifiers directly from the Slicer table or from the Slicer Editor.

How to select a new Column Classifier

  1. Click on the Slicer Editor icon present on the Slicer toolbar. The Slicer Editor is displayed.
  2. In the Column Classifiers section of Slicer Editor, click on the Available Classifiers option, and then select the required classifier names from the list.
  3. To rearrange the added column classifiers, drag-and-drop the required classifiers directly from the Slicer table or from the Slicer Editor.

How to add a Comparison in the Column Classifiers 

  1. Click on the Slicer Editor icon present on the Slicer toolbar. The Slicer Editor is displayed.
  2. Click on the Column Classifiers Options of Slicer Editor and select Add Comparison. The Add Comparison dialog box is displayed. 
  3. In the Add Comparison dialog box:
    1. In the Select Classifier drop-down list, select the required classifier name.
    2. In the Compare To options:
      1. Select To Previous option to compare values between the selected classifier and the previous classifier.
        Or            
      2. Select To Specific option to compare values between the selected classifier and a specific classifier. The Select Value drop-down list is displayed. 
      3. In the Select Value drop-down list, select the required value to compare with the selected classifier. 
  4. Click on the Save button.
  5. The Slicer table is updated with the added comparison value.

How to select a new Metric

  1. Click on the Slicer Editor icon present on the Slicer toolbar. The Slicer Editor is displayed.
  2. In the Metrics section of Slicer Editor, click on the Available Metrics option, and then select the required metrics from the list.
  3. To rearrange the added metrics, drag-and-drop the required metrics directly from the Slicer Editor.

How to add a new Custom Metric

  1. Click on the Slicer Editor icon present on the Slicer toolbar. The Slicer Editor section is displayed.
  2. In the Metrics section of Slicer Editor, click on the Metrics Options, and then select Add Custom Metric. The Add Custom Metric dialog box is displayed.
  3. In the Add Custom Metric dialog box, enter the following details:
    1. Custom Metric Name: In the text box, enter the name of the custom metric.
    2. Calculation Type: From the drop-down list, select Sum
    3. Calculate For: From the drop-down list, select the required Metrics.
    4. Format: From the drop-down list, select the required numeric format, and then select the value from the Number of decimals drop-down list.
    5. Show Totals As: From the drop-down list, select an appropriate value.
  4. Click on Save.

How to configure rules for cell highlighting

  1. Click on the Slicer Editor icon present on the Slicer toolbar. The Slicer Editor section is displayed.
  2.  In the Metrics section of Slicer Editor, click on the available metric. The selected metric expands and displays the Add Cell Highlighting Rules option. 
  3. Click on the Add Cell Highlighting Rules option; the Add Cell Highlighting Rules dialog box is displayed. 
  4. In the Add Cell Highlighting Rules dialog box:
    1. Select the preferred highlight color from the Highlight Color drop-down list. 
    2. Select the required operator value from the Operator drop-down list.
    3. For the operator type Between, two boxes are displayed in the Values column to enter the value ranges. For the operator type Other, no box is displayed in the Values column.
    4. Enter an appropriate value in the Values box.
  5. Click on the Save button.
