BOM Section provides a structured approach to organize Materials. It ensures data integrity and minimizes number of errors related to incorrect material types when developing a BOM.
BOM Sections replace Divider rows. This is needed because Divider rows do not work well when sorting and grouping a BOM. The new BOM Sections work well with grouping and sorting.
BOM sections configured can be used on Style BOMs and Material BOMs
The description of columns displayed in the BOM tables are as follows:
- BOM Section: Name of BOM Section.
- Localized Name: Localized name of BOM Section. BOM Sections support locale-specific names that will be displayed based on the user’s locale.
- Description: Description of BOM Section.
- Applicable Style/Material Types: Style/Material types that can use this section on their BOMs.
- Placement Type (only for Style BOM Sections): Either Material or Style. This limits the kind of product (style or material) that can be added to this section.
- Applicable Placement Types: Style/Material types that are valid for BOM Section.
- Query Filter: Provides ability to define filters based on Style/Material attributes to narrow down the list of available Materials/Styles for a BOM line.
