On this tab, you can update the Inspection Level, Acceptance Limits, and other properties of the Sampling Plan in the Properties section.
In the Sampling Plan Table section, you can define the following Sampling Plan Item details in compliance with the industry-wide standard ISO 2859-1:
- Lot Size
- Sample Quantity
- Carton Quantity
- Acceptance numbers for the major and minor defects respectively.
NOTE: The Sample Quantity for inspection varies depending on the selected Inspection Level. Similarly, the Acceptance Number for a specific Sample Quantity varies depending on the selected Acceptance Limit.
NOTE: The ISO standard 2859-1 uses the table Sample size code letters to convert different Inspection Levels to the same Sampling Plan. The applicable scenarios are managed by creating an individual Sampling Plan for each Inspection Level.

This section displays the properties of the created Sampling Plan.
How to update the Acceptance Limits
- In the Properties section, in the Acceptance Limits drop-down list, select/clear the required acceptance limits for the selected Sampling Plan.
- Additionally, other properties such as Sampling Plan name, Inspection Level, and Description details can be updated.
The following attributes are displayed in the Default view:
- Sampling Plan: The Sampling Plan name which can be edited/updated.
- Description: A brief description of the sampling plan which can be edited/updated.
- Inspection Level: This column lists the three inspection levels per the industry-wide standard.
- Acceptance Limits: This drop-down list displays the available acceptance limits which can be selected/cleared. Using the acceptance quality limit standards for major and minor defects, the acceptance numbers are identified to pass or fail the final inspection.

How to create a New Sampling Plan Item
- From the Lot Size column, mouse-over Actions, and then select New Sampling Plan Item. The New Sampling Plan Item dialog box is displayed.
- In the New Sampling Plan Item dialog box, enter an appropriate quantity details in the following boxes per the industry-wide standard:
- Lot Size
- Sample Qty
- Carton Qty
- Click on Save. A new row is created for the new sampling plan item.
- In the Acceptance Limits related columns, enter an appropriate acceptance number per the industry-wide standard to pass the final inspection.
- Follow the steps 1 through 4 to create multiple new sampling plan items.
The following attributes are displayed in the Default view:
- Lot Size: Displays the lot size for inspection. The quantity of each product is a lot size. If a shipment contains different products, then the quantity of each product is a lot size. If the shipment contains only one product, then the lot size is the total batch quantity.
- Sample Qty: Displays the sample quantity for inspection which can be edited/updated.
- Carton Qty: Displays the number of cartons from which the samples have to be selected for inspection. This column can be edited/updated.
NOTE: The Carton Qty column is editable and it is used to determine the target number of cartons from which the samples should be selected for product inspection. - Acceptance Limits: Displays the acceptance number (that is, the number of non-conformities can be present in a product) to pass the inspection which can be edited/updated.
- Actions: This column displays the Delete option and arrow keys to move up or down the required sampling plan item multiple times. For more information, refer to Generic Features.
NOTE: The editable fields are displayed with a grey triangle in the lower-right corner of the cell.
NOTE: The commented fields are displayed with a red triangle in the upper-right corner of the cell.
NOTE: The blank cell option initiates no action.
