On this tab, you can add an inspection defects, which are identified during the inspection activities.
How to add a New Inspection Defect
- From the Inspection Defect column, mouse-over Actions, and then select New Inspection Defect.
- In the New Inspection Defect dialog box, enter details for the following fields:
- Defect: From the drop-down list, select the defect name.
- Batch Error Type: From the drop-down list, select the batch error type.
- Defect Counter: Enter the number of defects identified, with this inspection defect.
- Click on Save. The new inspection defect is added to the Inspection Defect table.
NOTE: The Inspection Defect name is automatically created, with the combination of the Defect name is suffixed with the Batch Error Type name.
The following attributes are displayed in the Default view:
- Inspection Defect: Displays the name of the Inspection Defect. Click on the Inspection Defect name, to view the properties of the related Inspection Defect.
- Defect: Displays the defect name. Click on the Defect name to view its properties.
- Code: Displays the standardized code of the defect.
- Batch Error Type: Displays the name of the batch error type. This attribute is used to highlight the severity of the respective defect using the defined Error Types.
- Defect Counter: Displays the number of occurrences of the same defect exists in an inspection batch, which can be edited/updated.
- Image: Displays the image of the defect from the product. Defect related images can be uploaded to this column through the Browse Images context menu.
- Comment: Displays a brief comment about the inspection defect, which can be edited/updated.
- Batch Tests:
- Test Specification: Displays the name of the Test Specification, which contains the target value/sample reference with the corresponding tolerance value, to pass or fail the inspection activity. When the measured value exceeds this test specification value (that is, target value + tolerance value), then a defect is created.
- Actions: This column provides the Edit and Delete options, to maintain the inspection defects. For more information, refer to Generic Features.
NOTE: The blank cell option initiates no action.
NOTE: The editable fields are displayed with a grey triangle in the lower-right corner of the cell.
NOTE: The commented fields are displayed with a red triangle in the upper-right corner of the cell.
