For most ${BusinessObject.Plural}, users can create ${ConfigurableAttribute.Name} or node specific validation rules on an ${ConfigurableAttribute.Name} using the ${ConfigurableValidationRule.Plural} tab. Validation Rules can be invoked when objects are created in the system or when workflow changes the state of an object.

Users can also specify the error message to be displayed when the ${ConfigurableValidationRule.Plural} are not met.

One or more ${ConfigurableValidationRule.Plural} can be grouped under a ${ConfigurableValidationRuleGroup.Name}.
 
How to define a new ${ConfigurableValidationRule.Name} 

  1. Mouse-over ${Actions} and select  ${New} ${ConfigurableValidationRule.Name}.
  2. Enter ${ConfigurableValidationRule.Name} expression in the Expression column. 
  3. Enter an error message in the Validation Error Message column, to be displayed when the ${ConfigurableValidationRule.Name} is not met.
  4. In the Validation Groups column, from the drop-down list, select the ${ConfigurableValidationRuleGroup.Name}.

NOTE: The new ${ConfigurableValidationRule.Name} are displayed in yellow in the table indicating that these rules have been created. To make them available in the C8 application, select Tools > ${UpdateConfiguration}. After the configuration is updated, the row is displayed in green.
 
IMPORTANT: The ${ConfigurableValidationRule.Plural} tab is not available on all ${BusinessObject.Name}.
