Using this tab, it is possible to select one or more existing attributes and group them together under a new ${ConfigurableAttributeGroup.Name} name.

The purpose of such grouping is:

  1. It facilitates the search of attributes, especially when a particular hierarchy level consists of a very large number of attributes.
  2. It helps easy definition of a Custom View. Instead of browsing through a large list of attributes to choose from, the Users can select the Attribute group to be displayed. The selected attribute consisting of the required attributes will be displayed as a separate section heading in the Style > Properties view.

    IMPORTANT: Attributes must be defined on the STYLE ATTRIBUTES business object and then grouped together. 

How to group one or more existing attributes under an ${ConfigurableAttributeGroup.Name} name 

  1. Mouse-over ${Actions} and select New ${ConfigurableAttributeGroup.Name}.
  2. The new ${ConfigurableAttributeGroup.Name} is created with (Unnamed) as the default name. Click in the cell to edit the name of the ${ConfigurableAttributeGroup.Name}.
  3. ${User.Plural} are directed to the (Select) Attributes tab.
  4. Users can use the arrow icons in the Actions column, to move the Attribute Group either up or down and change the order of their display in the table.

HINT: To move the order of the Attributes, click on an Attribute Group. Use the arrow icons in the Actions column in the Attributes table and move the order of the attributes. This order will be reflected in the Attribute Groups table. 

For the changes to be reflected within the C8 application, from the main menu bar, select Actions > Update Configuration.
